Zedekiah

Zedekiah
The last king of Judah, placed on the throne by the Babylonian conqueror Nebuchadnezzar in 597 BCE (2 Kgs. 24:17). Jeremiah advised him to live and reign under Babylonian rule—but he rebelled; Jerusalem was again besieged and captured, and Zedekiah was taken in chains to Babylon (2 Kgs. 25:6–7), where he was forced to witness the murder of his sons before his eyes were put out.
